Bitcoin Suisse, a prominent Swiss provider of crypto financial services, has secured a Financial Services Permission from the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), following an In-Principle Approval granted last year. This regulatory green light allows its subsidiary, BTCS Middle East, to provide a range of services including digital asset wealth management and custody specifically tailored for institutional clients in the UAE. The approval, issued by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), positions Bitcoin Suisse to offer institutional custody, trading of approved virtual assets, and exposure management within a fully compliant framework.
The firm plans to leverage its parent company’s extensive infrastructure and experience, which includes managing approximately USD 3.7 billion in crypto assets and ranking as the fourth-largest staking provider globally. This strategic move aligns with the growing trend of institutional interest in digital assets and reflects Abu Dhabi's ambition to establish itself as a leading hub for regulated digital asset services.
Ceyda Majcen, CEO of BTCS Middle East, emphasized that the FSP represents a significant milestone in their international growth strategy. She noted that the authorization underscores the company's decade-long commitment to developing robust risk frameworks and client infrastructure. As the digital asset market continues to mature, Bitcoin Suisse aims to facilitate clients' access to tokenized real-world assets, further enhancing its service offerings in the region.
