First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) has introduced the Jaywan Debit Card, aimed at enhancing the domestic payment infrastructure in the UAE. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to support the national card scheme managed by Al Etihad Payments and backed by the Central Bank of the UAE. The Jaywan card allows customers to conduct in-person transactions at local merchants, withdraw cash from ATMs nationwide, and make online purchases on UAE-based platforms, thereby streamlining the payment process for consumers and businesses alike.

Integrated with the FAB Mobile app, the Jaywan Debit Card offers users the ability to monitor their transactions, access digital servicing tools, and manage their accounts efficiently. Security is a key focus, with features such as 3D Secure authentication and Chip and PIN technology, alongside support for tokenized integration with digital wallets for contactless payments on compatible devices. This positions FAB as a forward-thinking player in the competitive fintech landscape of the UAE.

Futoon Al Mazrouei, Group Head of Personal, Wealth and Business Banking at FAB, emphasized the bank's commitment to providing secure and innovative payment solutions that align with the evolving financial ecosystem of the UAE. The Jaywan Debit Card is currently available to existing customers with eligible FAB accounts, while new clients must first establish an account before applying.

This launch not only enhances FAB's product offerings but also reflects the growing emphasis on digital payment solutions within the UAE, a market increasingly characterized by innovation and technological advancement. As the UAE continues to position itself as a fintech hub in the region, initiatives like the Jaywan Debit Card are likely to attract further investment and interest in the domestic payments space.
