Invest Qatar has unveiled a new venture capital funding module on its digital platform, designed to facilitate the process for startups seeking institutional investment. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Qatar Investment Authority, centralizes the discovery and application process, allowing emerging businesses to easily review investment focus areas and eligibility criteria of various participating funds. Many of these venture firms are supported by the sovereign wealth fund’s US$3 billion fund of funds program, enabling startups to submit pitches directly to fund managers and access essential ecosystem services. Dr. Hamad Rashid Al-Naimi, Chief Strategy Officer at Invest Qatar, emphasized that this module simplifies each stage of a founder's journey, providing a clear path from concept to capital. The initiative aims to position Qatar as a regional technology and innovation hub by lowering barriers for global founders looking to establish a presence in the Middle East. Haya Al Ghanim, Director of Qatar Funds at the Qatar Investment Authority, noted that the module enhances visibility for entrepreneurs, offering clearer pathways to connect with relevant fund managers.
