Effective June 30, 2026, Saudi Arabia has mandated a 30% Saudization rate in 46 engineering professions within the private sector. This initiative, announced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, applies to establishments with five or more employees in the specified fields. The targeted professions encompass a wide array of engineering disciplines, including architecture, power generation, industrial, electronics, automotive, marine, and aerospace engineering, all of which necessitate professional accreditation from the Saudi Council of Engineers. HRSD has initiated monitoring compliance across these establishments, with penalties set to be imposed on non-compliant entities after a designated grace period. This decision underscores the government's commitment to fostering national talent and aligning job opportunities with the evolving demands of the engineering labor market.
