Saudi Arabia has launched a new Visa Package aimed at enhancing its tourism appeal by allowing travelers from six countries to obtain electronic tourist visas as part of a bundled travel booking. The initiative, announced by the Ministry of Tourism, currently caters to visitors from Jordan, Egypt, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Mexico. This innovative service integrates flights, licensed hotel accommodations, and an electronic tourist visa into a single booking process, thereby simplifying the travel experience and encouraging more tourists to visit the Kingdom.
Travelers can expect to receive their electronic visa within 48 hours of purchasing the travel package, eliminating the traditional requirement to visit a Saudi embassy or submit a separate visa application. To take advantage of this service, travelers must book through one of the two accredited travel agencies, Reserval or Almosafer, and pay digitally. The Visa Package includes a confirmed round-trip flight, accommodation at a Ministry of Tourism-licensed hotel rated at least four stars, and the electronic visa application, with a minimum package price set at SR4,000 for adults.
The single-entry tourist visa is valid for three months, allowing stays of between two and 88 days in Saudi Arabia. While the packages do not cover services in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, visa holders can travel freely throughout the Kingdom, including these significant religious sites. This initiative not only aims to boost tourism but also positions Saudi Arabia as a more accessible destination for international travelers, particularly from emerging markets.
As part of its broader strategy to diversify its economy and reduce reliance on oil revenues, Saudi Arabia is expected to expand the Visa Package to include additional nationalities in future phases.
