In the first quarter of 2026, Saudi Arabia's services exports rose to SR71.3 billion, marking a 7.9 percent increase from the previous quarter, as reported by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). The travel services sector was the primary driver, contributing SR44.3 billion, which accounted for 62 percent of total services exports. Following travel, transportation services generated SR10.9 billion, while communications, computer and information services, along with government services, contributed SR2.6 billion. Other business services and construction services added SR2.4 billion and SR2 billion, respectively, with remaining categories collectively generating SR6.5 billion in exports. On the import side, total services imports fell by 6.9 percent to SR111.4 billion, with transportation services leading at SR31.8 billion and travel services at SR21.3 billion. The report underscored the significant role of personal travel, which constituted 96.6 percent of total travel services exports and 93.8 percent of imports. Notably, air transport made up 39.9 percent of transportation exports, while maritime transport accounted for 40.9 percent of imports.
