In a significant move to bolster economic collaboration within the Gulf region, Majid Al-Qasabi, the Saudi Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi General Authority of Foreign Trade, underscored the necessity of strengthening integration among GCC member states. This assertion came during the 71st extraordinary meeting of the GCC Commercial Cooperation Committee, conducted virtually on Sunday. Al-Qasabi highlighted that the strategic projects discussed aim to tackle the challenges currently hindering the seamless operation of supply chains across the region. The meeting also saw participation from GCC Secretary General Jasem Albudaiwi and various commerce and industry ministers from member states. Together, they reviewed decisions stemming from the 19th consultative meeting of GCC leaders and examined the initiatives undertaken by the GCC General Secretariat to enhance integration in critical sectors. This collaborative effort reflects a unified approach to address economic hurdles and promote regional stability.
